Children enjoy crafting their Christingles in school followed by a service in the Church. A Christingle is a symbolic orange, decorated with different items to represent various elements of the Christian faith. Here's what each part of the Christingle represents:
- Orange: The orange symbolizes the world.
- Candle: The candle placed on top of the orange represents Jesus as the light of the world.
- Red Ribbon: The red ribbon wrapped around the orange symbolizes the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed for the salvation of the world.
- Four Cocktail Sticks with Sweets or Fruit: These represent the four seasons of the year, or alternatively, the four corners of the earth. The sweets or fruit represent God's gifts to the world.
